  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 12 ounces pasta (penne, rigatoni, or shells)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella blend)
  • 1 cup grape juice
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add pasta and cook until al dente; drain, reserving 1 cup cooking water.
  2. In a large skillet melt butter over medium heat; add onion and garlic and sauté 3–4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef, break up, and brown 6–7 minutes; season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Pour grape juice and beef broth into skillet; simmer 5 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Reduce heat to low, stir in half the shredded cheese until melted; add reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick.
  6. Add cooked pasta to skillet, toss to coat; sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  7. Optional: Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden, or serve directly from the skillet.
