This easy, one‑pan recipe cooks in under thirty minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights or meal‑prep plans. Rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor, it satisfies cravings for classic Philly comfort while keeping cleanup simple and quick. Ideal for families and ready in minute

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground smoked beef
  • 1 cup diced green peppers
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or provolone)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 7–8 minutes. Drain and toss with a little oil; set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green peppers, cooking until softened and lightly caramelized, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground smoked beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned and any excess moisture has evaporated, 6–8 minutes.
  4. Return the cooked noodles to the skillet and stir in half of the shredded cheese until it begins to melt and coat the noodles.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover the skillet, and let sit for 5 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier version
  • add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes with the garlic powder. Use mozzarella instead of cheddar for a milder melt. Leftovers reheat well with a splash of milk or broth to restore creaminess.
