  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes

  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, ketchup, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until combined.
  3. Shape mixture into a loaf and place in a greased baking dish. Bake 45 minutes.
  4. While loaf bakes, boil potatoes until tender, mash with butter and season.
  5. Remove loaf, spread mashed potatoes on top, sprinkle cheese.
  6. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes until cheese melts and turns golden.
  7. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
